After the Date Number One screenings in December, back to work on Brooklyn Fantastic

So, a lot happened since we stopped filming on Brooklyn Fantastic in Spring '09: lot of day job work, got some bills paid, I moved to a new apartment in an awesome new neighborhood (!Sunset Park!, Brooklyn), lots of blogging, shot & edited a 2 Week feature named Unlimited Dreamtime (yet to be released) and now I am showing my previous feature - Date Number One - at an art gallery in Brooklyn (Aeon Logic) all December long (on every Wed & Fri), & am prepping to finally release the DNO DVD. On top of all that I am eager to get back to work on BF & finish it up! First things: need to cut - in January - Part 1 of BF that was shot in Spring '09, & I am at the moment writing Part 2 of the movie, in Feb the Part 2 script should be done & I'll get ready to shoot & edit part 2 in Spring '10. So, should have BF completed by the end of Spring, with a screening in NYC by the middle of 2010 (& DVDs, etc.). That's the plan for finishing BF.

Story 2 of B-Fantastic filming this fall

Got warmed up by shooting a 2 week film project last week, now getting ready to finish writing, casting, rehearsing Story 2 of Brooklyn Fanstastic this fall & then shooting & editing it. So, before the end of '09 B-Fantastic should be done. The People should get to see it starting Spring 2010/next year.

Project Update

Prepping for completion of filming. I expect to shoot the second half of the film May-June. By end of July we should have the film edited. So, the film will be submitted to festivals with Fall deadlines, for a possible festival premiere in early 2010.

We've got somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 of BF shot, and now a little break in early to mid April while I attend the Atlanta Film Festival for a few days to promote one of my other movies - Indie Film Blogger Road Trip, but we'll be back at work on BF after that - rest of film to be shot in May. I expect to be able to submit the film to film festivals by Fall. Check out some photos from March from BF production here.

Working on completing the casting for BF. Over the last week or so almost all the supporting character roles were cast (the rest are in the process of being cast at this very moment). Some of the recent additions to the BF cast include Jace Nicole (Cookies & Cream), Baltimore based actress Kami Locklear (who was cast in '08 in a yet unproduced movie idea of mine called Actress, and one of the scenes in BF - an audition scene - that Kami is in is one that was partially based off of one originally planned for Actress), and Ryan Balas (Sandcastles, Carter), and Richard Buonagurio (Harry's Judy). Will have a full cast list once the filming is completed later this month.
